Jacobsen Youth Initiative
Oregon Junior Golf is governed by the Junior Golf Board and the Oregon Junior Golf Committee. However, the working engine of our program are our many Sub-Committees. We are often looking for dedicated, talented supports looking to their time and energy to making our program even better for our members.
Committees
The Jacobsen Youth Initiative Committee is all about growing the game of golf at the youth level throughout our region with focus on awareness.
It is made up of involved parents, regional business leaders, and golf professionals and other industry leaders.
In 2013, the Committee will be tasked to ensure the successful region-wide launch of Youth on Course and the continued expansion of the Erling Jacbosen Tour.
The Fundraising Committee helps to administer Oregon Junior Golf's primary fundraising activities including: The Oregon Youth Best-Ball Fundraiser and the Oregon Junior Golf Marathon. Working projects include securing raffle and auction prizes as well as
In addition to event based fundraising activities, the Committee is tasked with spreading awareness among clubs and golf supporters throughout our region while advocating for direct financial and/or in-kind support.
Oregon Junior Golf has a proud tradition of former junior players and the Alumni Committee works to keep connected to our former members.
The Alumni Committee is entrusted to communicate with alumni about new programs and initiatives, listen to alumni ideas about how our program can improve, keep up-to-date on former members currently playing college golf, solicit testimonials from former Oregon Junior Golfers, and encourage continuing financial support of our program.
The Marketing and Communications Committee supports Oregon Junior Golf's strategic plan with a focus on ensuring our young members get the recognition they deserve within our region's media outlets and that our program has a clear and consistent message to participants, parents and guardians, and supporters.
Committee members consult and assist Oregon Junior Golf staff with newsletter content and production as well as assist other subcommittees achieve their respective goals.
